Corbett National Park is spread over a total area of 520 Sq kms across hills, riverine belts, marshy depressions, grasslands and a large lake. Being an eco-tourism destination, the park houses around 50 species of mammals, 580 bird species, and hundreds of species of plants and trees. Over 80 different bird species can be seen at and around SFR during your morning breakfast or evening walk.
Summer is witnessed in the park from March till June. Although the weather is hot during the day, mornings and evenings are pleasant and the occasional thunderstorms and showers cool the climate even further. It is considered the best time to visit the park as all five safari zones are open and wildlife sighting is abundant. This is when tourists can spot a plethora of animals who come out in search of water and also escape the crowd that is witnessed during the peak season. Also, leaves dry out during this season which makes spotting the elusive tiger easier for the tourists.
A visit to Corbett is never complete without a safari in the forest. Jeep safaris are available in Bijrani, Garjiya, Jhirna, Dhela and Sitabani zones and can be booked online or even we can assist you in arranging for the same. The heart of Corbett, Dhikala can be visited by canter safari. Canter safari is on per seat basis.
There are two rounds of safari per day, one in the morning and one in the evening for guests to choose from as per their convenience but bookings are subject to availability. All the zones have enthralling landscapes and abundant wildlife that one can enjoy during the safari.
The Dhangarhi Museum is situated at Dhangarhi gate which is also the entry point for Dhikala zone. It is one of the major attractions for the tourists. This museum is standing firm on the ground since the inception of the park and has recently been updated with newer attractions. The museum throws light on the life and journey of Edward James (JIM) Corbett and the heritage of Corbett National Park.
Tourists can get their adrenalin rushing by a visit to the adventure park where activities such as Zip Line, River Crossing, Camel Safari, etc are available.
Corbett Falls is a scenic waterfall located at 25 kms from Ramnagar. Developed as a picnic spot for tourists, Corbett Falls is surrounded by dense teak wood forests which extends its natural beauty.
Garjiya Devi Temple is a noted Devi temple located in the Garjiya village near Ramnagar on the outskirts of the Corbett National Park. It is a sacred Shakti shrine where Garjiya Devi is the presiding deity. The temple is situated over a large rock in the Kosi River and is one of the most famous temples of the area visited by thousands of devotees around the year.
Located near Ramnagar, This huge first of a kind temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and captures various depictions of Hanuman ji not only from Ramayana but even older incarnations. The temple is really vast and its serene and positive vibes make it a must-visit either alone or with family/friends.
